have kids is this just a lie or them being lazy community college are cheap and most of the tution if not all of it is coverd by financial aid or the pell grant and if after two yrs they move on to a 4yr school they can get loans if they rally want to go to college what do u think

If they don't have a family to support and it's just themselves, then, yes, I feel they have no excuse to say that they don't have enough money for college.

That said, the people who have the least money are also the ones who are most unlikely to know about the various types of financial aid and/or how to apply for it. So, they're more likely to not get everything they're entitled to.

Also, they may have very low expectations of what jobs they can get (again, cuz they just don't know any better) so it may not be worth it to go to college for the types of jobs they are %26quot;aiming%26quot; for.

The gov't needs to get the word out more. However, in many states, they're just having a hard enough time getting kids educated properly. Getting them into colleges is a problem that's pretty far down the list of educational problems.

4. f they did not do well in high school then why should they apply to college?

5. money is a issue especially in poor communities

7. their partners prevent them from getting a better education especially controlling men who wants the woman to stay home and do domestic work

8. some have to support the family business and cannot or donot have time to study

9. some dont want to pay college with loans

10. others donot have family support or money to watch their children so they can attend school and study.

There are several possible reasons:

It could also be fear of failure. As long as they have excuses, they rationalize not doing it.

They could have had bad experiences in grade school. The thought of more schooling could be scary.

Maybe, they just are not college material. Not everyone is.
