Why do people just HAVE to get into these 4-year schools that have admission processes that drive a person insane? Some people would just DIE if they couldn't get in and they have to go to community college. I went to community college before transfering to a 4-year university. The admission process is extremely simple and very cheap -- only $39 per credit hour (that's a current figure, by the way). All the classes transfered and I saved a ton in student loans.

i honestly don't know. I went to CC, and the courses there were quite rigorous. I have found that no one cares where you took algebra, English Comp 101, Gepgraphy, and Intro to Lit. I think tha the whole 4-year thing is HYPE.

i do it to challenge my mind, and the name of the college you attend will get you your first job, then your work experience.

It's what they are taught about universities and colleges. There's a stereotype that says university courses are harder, and are worth more when an employer looks at ur transcrips or such. It's also said that if u want a post bachelorate degree, some graduate programs won't accept community college credits. I don't know abou the graduate school thing, but I'm in a community college now, and let me tell u, it's all in the classes u take, the teachers u have, and what ur good at..it doesn't matter if u take it at the local U, or CC. IF ur into saving money, and easing into school(CC's are a great transition from HS to 4-year), I'd go CC. Plus, the teachers there seem to have more time to devot to their students since they don't have to publish literature to get tenure, or maintain their faculty positions. It's all a matter of preference.

Sounds like an excellent solution to me. I would check first to see if all of the credits I intend to take will transfer, otherwise, it will be a waste of time and money for those that will not transfer.
