So being as i am from Florida i can go to FSU which is a top school for only about $3,000 a year for tuition. This is were i was considering going, mostly due to it being so cheap for me. Keep in mind if i wasnt from Florida it would cost $17,000. However my parents want me to go to Miami University, which as well is a very school. They like this school because its 9 hours closer to home, which is a big deal to my parents. But the cost is $29,000 a year for only tuition no dorm, food, books, etc. My parents tell me to ignore the cost and i can get loans and such, but since im the one paying for it, i am going to worry about it. And since they look at parent income my parents make way too much to qualify for financial aid, even though they arent paying for it. And the reason i like these 2 is because they have good medical which is what i plan to pursue. So should i attend the school that i will have to travel longer for but can pay less, or the one expensive, yet close? please help.
Which University should i attend?
Equally as important as cost and distance from home is the overall feel of the campus. If you go to FSU because of cheaper tuition, it will still won't be worth it if it turns out you don't like the campus and are unhappy.
Conversely, Miami will be a good deal if you absolutely love the campus.
Make it a point to spend some time on each campus to see which one (if either) you feel most comfortable on.

Speaking as a person still paying off student loans, go to FSU. It's an excellent school and is much more reasonable in cost. If you are the one paying, you need to make a decision based on what you can afford.
