I got this Suntax flash loaned, I just have to have it fixed, which is as cheap as it gets, but I'm wondering if I can use it with both my Nikon D70 and D200.
It's dedicated for Canon cameras. What can go wrong if I mount it?
Can I mount a Suntax RF 18AFC for Canon on my Nikon D70/D200?
You'll need the module that dedicates it to your Nikon cameras. Otherwise, it won't communicate with the camera. You also need to check the flash trigger voltage for a Canon versus for your Nikon. A higher trigger voltage could fry your Nikon's electronics although with the correct module it shouldn't be a problem.
Although there are several good quality after-market flash units, you simply cannot go wrong using the flash designed for your camera by the people who designed your camera.
