Hi, I am going to USC in the fall, and I'm going to need a laptop. Does anyone know where I can get one for cheap or free? Is there any programs that loan or give students computers that have financial need? Is there anywhere that gives significant discounts for students? Thanks for any and all help.

if you're looking for cheap, then macs are out of the question. go for a pc. most major pc manufacturers offer student discounts on their products. though they're not great, they do take some of the bite off of buying a computer. do some research. what do you really need? i strongly reccomend dell pcs, out of all pcs they are, in my experience, the most reliable.

See if your school has a computer program for students. Mine offered Dells, HPs, and Macs all at a discount.
As expensive as it might be, buying one may be your best bet. If you buy this time of year, odds are you can get a good deal.
