When is the best time to ask for cash?

I attend college after qualifying for financial aid + loans; basically paying for it on my own. A family member agreed to help with some money, bills ect. I also work when it doesn't interferor with school too much. But, obviously every time I ask for cash, he doesn't want to give, gives and attitude, and I know he has plenty of money... When is the best time to ask for money from your family?

P.S. I'm also cheap...

It's never okay to ask for cash from anybody. Do you actually consider qualifying for financial aid and student loans (that are in deferrment) paying for school? That's not paying for school, that's signing a piece of paper that says one day when I get around to i, I'll pay for school. But you're not actually paying right now. Here's what I suggest, get a job. Schedule your classes around that job, Get better grades and then somebody might %26quot;offer%26quot; to help. But until you stop getting C's and D's for grades it's probably not going to happen.

I would ask when you know someone is in a good mood. If someone has just accomplished something positive or the holidays, birthdays, special occasions like weddings always seem to put people in a good generous mood. Or after you do something nice for this family member when they aren't expecting it.
